SmartLearn Privacy Policy

2) Information we collect

We collect only what we need to operate and improve SmartLearn:

• Account information (if you sign in): email, user ID, display name (optional).
• Learning data: quiz/exam results, progress, bookmarks/favorites and related usage within the app.
• Diagnostics & performance: crash reports, error logs, basic device/app information (e.g., OS version, app version), and app interaction events.
• Advertising data (if ads are enabled): advertising identifiers and signals used to deliver, limit frequency, and measure ads.

3) Information we do not collect

SmartLearn does not collect:

• Contacts, SMS/call logs
• Photos, files, or media from your device storage
• Microphone recordings or camera feed
• Precise GPS location
• Payment or banking card details (payments, if any, are handled by the app store)

4) Why we collect data

We use collected data to:

• Provide core app functionality (content access, progress tracking, bookmarks).
• Create and manage accounts (if you sign in).
• Improve stability, troubleshoot issues, and prevent abuse/fraud.
• Show ads (if the free version includes ads) and measure ad performance.

5) Ads & tracking (Google AdMob)

SmartLearn may display ads using Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads. Ad providers may process:

• Advertising ID (or equivalent identifier)
• IP address (often used to estimate approximate location, not precise GPS)
• Device information (model, OS, language)
• Ad interactions (impressions, clicks) and ad diagnostics

This helps deliver, limit frequency, prevent fraud, and measure ads. We do not sell your personal data.

6) Videos & media services

SmartLearn may show videos via YouTube or other streaming providers. These providers may process IP address, device information, and playback activity to deliver video, prevent abuse, and measure performance.

7) Offline storage

SmartLearn stores certain content and settings on your device (for example: cached books/papers, app settings, and progress) to support offline use and improve performance.

8) Sharing & third parties

We share data only with providers needed to operate SmartLearn, such as:

• Google/Firebase services (for authentication, analytics, crash reporting, and storage where used).
• Ad providers (e.g., Google AdMob) if ads are enabled.
• Video providers (e.g., YouTube) when you watch embedded/linked videos.

We do not sell your personal information.

9) Data retention

We keep data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. You may request deletion of account-associated data by contacting us (see “Contact” below).

10) Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11) Children’s privacy

SmartLearn is intended for students and general audiences. If you are a parent/guardian and believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps, including deletion where applicable.
